We had two incredible Rainbow Baby submissions for April, so we couldn't choose just one. I had the pleasure of meeting Stella and her parents earlier this month, and I am so blessed to have been able to capture this beautiful moment for them. Not only did Hollie pick colors similar to my son's nursery, but turned out that she LOVES foxes as much as I do! So of course, I had to have a picture of Stella in my son, Conner's, custom fox bonnet.
Even though Stella wasn't the biggest fan of having her fingers touched, she absolutely loved being swaddled, and rocked her session. I was so excited to use some of our beautiful rainbow props, including a BEAUTIFUL rainbow wrap from Chicaboo and a headband from Three In The Nest Props

My husband and I found out I was pregnant last year on February 15th and we were so overjoyed. We went in to the doctor for our 8 week appointment and saw our little bean moving around and heard the heartbeat for the first time. For the next several weeks, we talked about all of our plans for this baby and shared the news with close friends and family.
On May 1st, when I was 12 weeks, I noticed spotting and called my doctor who told me to come in. They did an ultrasound and our little one was no longer moving and there was no heartbeat. My husband and I were told that the baby stopped growing weeks ago and I had a missed miscarriage. They recommended a D&C and I was faced with a grief I’d never felt before in my life and couldn’t make a decision right then and there how I wanted to proceed, it was too much. I ended up carrying for another week and finally was told I need a D&C for my own safety since my body wasn’t letting go. After that experience, my husband and I didn’t know when we would be ready again and felt that we would just leave it in God’s hands.
We decided to book a last minute trip to Italy in July and have something to look forward to. That trip ended up being magical and special to us. The last city we went to was called Sorrento and we were there for 3 days. The first night they had fireworks and we wondered what was being celebrated. The next morning as we were walking around I saw a sign that the days we were there happened to be St. Ann’s festival, which is a once a year celebration to honor their patron saint. We found out that she is the patron saint of pregnant women. When I found out, I cried and wondered if this was some kind of sign. That night the church there was open for people to come in and pray for those who are pregnant and who are trying. I sat down in the pews and prayed and cried, it was something that touched me more than I can explain.
When we got back home to the US, that was around the time where I should’ve had my time of the month but was late. I took one of the pregnancy tests the second day we were back and it came back as positive. We are now preparing for our little rainbow baby girl in a few weeks and it’s been a very nerve wracking experience but also such an amazing miracle. I cannot wait to hold her in my arms when she comes and at the same time I will never forget our first little one that was lost to us almost a year ago. I know a rainbow means a promise and it’s been a symbol that has really carried me during this pregnancy.
