If any of you know me personally, then you know I LOVE babies. Newborn sessions are my absolute favorite. I have always loved babies, and capturing the sweet little details of them. About 2 years ago, I became interested in minimalist newborn photography and took a workshop. I instantly became hooked! I majored in Fine Arts at Ohio University, and one of my absolute favorite classes was minimalism in painting. The use of light, and negative space as always intrigued me, and now that I know how to accomplish this with newborns just makes my heart sing!
I was contacted by Ashley a few months before her due date, for newborn photos. I had secretly been hoping she would reach out, as Ashley and I were pregnant together at the same time! We both were pregnant with our rainbow babies, and really got to connect with our little chats about how excited and anxious we were. Also, I had been following her blog Grow Gardner Grow which was all about her pregnancy, her rainbow baby, and even more exciting, guessing what the baby was! I had totally guess boy, and come time, I was totally wrong! Sweet Miss Eloise joined Ashley and her husband Matt, and was absolutely gorgeous.
Since Ashley and Matt had no idea what the baby would be, she had asked if we could keep everything very neutral, and just let the pictures do the talking. I was over the moon! What a perfect opportunity to show off this beautiful style of photography. We kept the setups all white and cream, with only variations in textures with wraps and bonnets. Miss Eloise even gave up a sweet little grin. Check out her sweet pictures below!
