I mentioned in my last post that I would start helping Sonia build up our high school senior photography genre. I feel like we can offer something not many in the are can. We have a growing wardrobe in the studio, the option for studio, outdoor, or a combination of the both, unique products to cherish the photos forever, and let's face it, we are just fun to hang out with;-)
Emma had already had her senior portraits taken earlier in the year, but she was so excited to get a fun fall photo session, and I was VERY excited to be able to fulfill that for her. We played in leaves, captured the beautiful fall sun, decked her out in blanket scarves, and enjoyed the fall weather.
Fall is seriously one of my favorite times of year to photograph senior. Heck, Fall is my favorite time of year to photograph anyone! LOL If you are wanting to capture your memories in the fall, just keep in mind, it IS the busiest time of year for our studio. That goes for ALL genres. Weekends book out MONTHS in advance, and week day nights book out fast as well. With 2 other photographers joining the team, we will be able to bring on more business, but I still feel it will be a busy season, so plan ahead please.
One of the biggest issues this past year that I found was people wanting the fall colors AND photos back in time for black friday card deals. HOPEFULLY with a new editor joining the team, it will cut back on editing time, and keep the typical 2 week turn around through the fall, HOWEVER, I hate to let people down. please plan your photo sessions advance to allow for editing, viewing,, ordering and delivery time. (3 weeks minimum). Unfortunately, because of the unpredictable nature of the Ohio weather, this year the tree colors didn't really start to change till end of October, the beginning of November. So my advice: just plan for time, not for colors.
Emma had a November session, and she LUCKED OUT. Her mom was worried with planning so far in November, we wouldn't have any leaves left on the trees. Boy were we wrong!! LOL.
