Baby Will: Columbus Ohio Newborn Photographer

Have you ever wondered why photographers prefer to shoot early morning, or later afternoon/evening? Well that is a full blog for another day, but the short version is because of the light. At high noon it is harsh, with bad shadows. However, I don't let that get me down! When Liz and Mitch originaally scheduled their Maternity session with me, I ended up getting REALLY sick the night we were supposed to do it. So we had to reschedule. Unfortunately, our shcedules only allowed for an afternoon session, when the light is less ideal. BUT I came prepared:-) I love an excuse to bring my studio strobes on location. A lot of photographers are intimidated by off camera flash and strobes on location for fear of photos looking like they were taken with flash. But, if used properly, lighting can help enhance and even mimic natural light. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how these maternity photos turned out. We took them in the Short North.

A couple months later they brough beautiful baby boy Will into the studio. He gave me a run for my money, but he was SUCH a sweetheart, and eventually gave into me:-) Mitch is in the military, so of course we had to incorporate that into a few shots!!!
